Finally... we can tell the world!!! WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!

Mr. O and I found out the news on December 23, 2010! A few pregnancy tests later it felt real! We had exciting news for our families on Christmas Day! First grandchild for the Motley household!

We are due September 4th 2011 :) Labor Day baby it is! This is a special date since my father's birthday is Sept 6th and then my parent's wedding anniversary is September 10th!

Home Again Home Again.....

Mr. O and I had an amazing time in New York for Turkey Day. We left AVL around 6pm and got to NYC by 5Am! Only two gas/pee stops! :) We went straight to bed and woke up around 11:30am to start Thanksgiving. We celebrated with Jesse's side of the family - The Benowich's! Beth and Larry are the two sweetest people (Mr. O's father's cousin) and their two girls Gillian and Shari! We had such a blast just catching up, cooking, sampling food, watching other people cook (of course thats me!) and football! THANK GOODNESS THE COWBOYS LOST!

This was Jesse and I's first year not to be with our families at Thanksgiving.... and we loved every minute of it! Of course I missed my mom's special side dishes and seeing our niece Alexandria but we will have many more opportunities ahead of us!

November 25 2010:
Thanksgiving was pretty laid back.... slept, ate, football and I was out by 11pm! Happy Birthday to my sister Jamie!!!!

November 26 2010:
Mr. O and I were off to try Pepe's Pizza in Yonkers! No line, great booth (except for the screaming children to our left) and unbelieveable P-I-Z-Z-A! Broc/Tom/Chz and Bacon/Garlic! We had to stop by some crazy shopping places b/c it is "Black Friday" so we did Best Buy and Old Navy near Ardsley, NY. That evening Gillian, Mr. O and I took the train from Hartsdale to Grand Central! I had never been on a train before... fun! The 40 min ride that cost us 14 a person! We got to the city and Gillian went off to her 10 year reunion and Mr. O and I looked at each other and took off! We enjoyed the city at night walking around and then ate dinner at Palm Too before meeting Gillian back at the train at 11:15PM to get home!

November 27 2010:
We slept in today. I got dressed and ran errands with Gillian before her flight back to AZ. Barnes and Noble, Bagels and a few drug stores! Mr. O packed up the car and we all said our good byes! The Ordans were off to NYC! We paid 31.00 to park our car in the all day! We rushed to Serendipity 3 to put our name on the list for the famous frozen hot chocolate! (they had a 2 hr plus weight). FYI - from 330 - 630 we are following the NCSU vs MD game by phone stats! We went shopping - New York & Co, The Body Shop, Bloomingdales and etc! Finally around 4pm our table was ready at Serendipity 3! We had 2 frozen hot chocolates, chkn nachos, and spuds! The food was okay but the frozen hot chocolate was great!!! Around 5pm we went to Chinatown! Amazing experience! After 2 hours of purchasing knock offs and going into secret hideaway rooms I think I'm set! :) Next stop was Magnolia Bakery which is one of Jesse's favorites! Thank goodness dinner was at 7:45pm! La Tanzis was very good! It gave us a chance to warm up before we hit the streets again! We made it back to the parked car and headed off to The Meadowlands in NJ to our hotel! (You think we were gone for a month with all our stuff.) After unpacking, getting the A/C turned ON (yes I did say ON) we were able to fall asleep looking out to the NYC skyline! The empire state building lit up in orange and red for Thanksgiving colors.....just beautiful.

November 28 2010:
FOOTBALL DAY!! We slept in and then got ready for the NY Giants vs Jaguars football game at 1pm! Jesse's client at GPI gave us 2 suite tickets for the game! The stadium was unbelieveable! So clean and modern! We were in the Lexus club! We had tons of food and drinks, three tvs inside with couches and then 20 leather chairs outside to watch the football game LIVE from the visitor side of the stadium from the 10 yard line!! WOW!! It was so great!!
Our night ended with Tic Tock Diner and then another drive into NYC for diet soda (Randy), Carnegie Deli, and black/white cookies to bring back to NC with us! Ohhh and I bought a Kindle! So excited to start using it!

November 29 2010:
We both have today off so we can drive back to NC. Our goal time to start is 7AM! Wish us luck!

The weekend is here! F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!

Mr. O and I are off to Charlotte, NC for the weekend! We have some errands to run then meeting the WOLFPACK crew at 11:30 at Hickory Tavern to watch the big football game!! I'm so pumped!

Sunday I'm throwing a birthday brunch for Jamie and Leslie at Village Tavern! There are 12 girls coming and I think it will be a fun time! Yay!

Short weekend.. but only 3 days of work next week! Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

The Holiday Season has Started!!!

There is just something about the temperature getting colder and the air feeling crisper! Turkey dinner is almost on the table and you are surrounded with tons of family, the holiday parties filled with love and laughter among friends/family, and then all the busiest time of the year... Hanukah and Christmas!!!

Party planning with the our girls Gingerbread House/Naughty Santa Chinese Gift Exchange and don't forget the Annual Mother-Daughter Cookie Exchange!

I'm already listening to Christmas music and blasting it each time! People are starting to decorate and the drive home to see the lights is just amazing.

Now is the time to focus on family and friends. To think about what you have and how grateful you are. Mr. O and I are surrounded with so many supportive and special people in our lives. Each day our life gets more settled up here in the mountains and the more confident that this is the place stay for us.

Our Thanksgiving news is pretty exciting!! We are off to ...........

We are so excited to spend Thanksgiving with Jesse's extended family and I get to see my favorite family member... Gillian!! :) So much to do!!! We start this journey next Wednesday night after work and then arrive Thursday AM (Happy Turkey Day) to the Benowich home! We celebrate by eating all day and then I'm sure off to bed early b/c .... BLACK FRIDAY in NYC has got to be so cool!!! A few days of shopping, seeing new parts of the city I haven't been to - SoHo, Meat Packing District, and Brooklyn, trying out the Subway (missed it last time due to the subway strike), making seeing a show and our biggest moment will be the NY GIANTS football game Sunday with 2 box seat tickets and a VIP parking pass!! YES WE ARE EXCITED!!! You can't tell?!?!?!?

A long but G-R-E-A-T weekend!!! Baby # 3 for Chad and Sara is due in a month so we celebrated with NCSU football game in Winston then a baby shower! Then we continued the drive to Raleigh that night.

Sunday we woke up to a HUGE birthday party! Lyric's theme was "friends and family" with red and white colors (of course!) He had so many friends and tons of toys to play with! He is such a big boy!! I can't believe it was one year ago that he came in to each of our lives and blessed each and every one of us.

I love him so much! Can't wait until he can say "Leigh Ann" :)

One year later... we made it!!! It has just flown by! I can't believe just one year ago I married my best friend. We spend the entire day yesterday together.. slept in, brunch, hiking off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and then a romantic dinner at the Stone House Market.

Think Pink

October is one of my favorite months of the year... especially since it is Mr. O and I's anniversary but also b/c of the awareness of breast cancer. I think everyone should remember everyday about cancer but it is nice to know the support you see everywhere during this month.

People are wearing pink, breast cancer walks, ribbons, and even the Asheville newspaper has been pink! Love it!

My mother's best friend, Lisa, has been affected by breast cancer. She has been fighting for almost two years now. Her constant fight and push to beat this makes me smile and stay positive. The strength it takes to take one more step, one more breathe and one more day going forward can take everything out of you but knowing that you want to get there makes all the difference in the world. Stay positive!

PDS Class '00 10 Year Reunion!!!

10 Years!!! Seriously?!?!!?! Gosh we are old! Last weekened Mr. O and I were in Charlotte, NC for Mr. O's 10 year reunion from high school. (Mine is next year.) We had a great pre-party at Paul's house before! All of us got to have time to eat, drink and look at old photo albums thanks to Julianna! The reunion was a little disappointing since we made up half of the reunion! Only about 25 people showed up total through the whole night. Not even ONE teacher came! So after tons of money, years of education, 2 reunions, bites of food, and two drink tickets we have a lifetime of wonderful memories and great friends!

I'm so lucky to say that Mr. O's friends are now my friends and part of our family. We are so lucky to have each of you in our lives! We are looking forward to what is next!

It has been way to long.....

Sorry for the delay but there just has been so much going on! My new job, Mr. O looking for a new job, traveling and OMG our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY is so close!

The most of September Mr. O and I spent at the beach... labor day in Myrtle Beach, SC and then a week in Holden, NC with our high school friends! Oh and my niece is now 6 months old! So adorable!

October just started and we have been planning to go see a NC State football game in Raleigh, NC and plan what we were going to do for our one year anniversary trip. We were off to San Francisco, CA and Napa Valley but we decided to wait for that. We are going to spend our anniversary in Asheville, NC which is now our permanent home. Can't wait!!

My CLT girls are coming up at the end of October for a weekend get-a-way! I'm so excited! No one of them have seen my house or my life in AVL.

Thank goodness for HUMP day!!! I'm off to work today and tomorrow and then in CLT for work Fri - Wed! (Yes I travel way too much now).

Week # 3 in Charlotte....

You know when you have one of those days or weeks where you question everything you are doing? Well I'm there. Why did I take this new job? Why did we stay in Asheville? Why don't we have kids yet? Why can't we save more money? You name it.... it is in my head this morning.

What happened to "no care" days.... you worried about having to get up for school each day, what were you going to eat for lunch and then how you were going to get all your plans packed into the weekend! Real world just isn't like that. Plans? Yeah right.... work ... sleep.... work... sleep.. oh and probably should eat sometime to have energy.

Today starts a very hectic weekend... wish me luck!

Another week in C-Town

I'm back.... in Charlotte that is!

I'm at my parents house tonight... then off to the University area the rest of the week! I'm looking forward to a girls night out on Wed night! I need my Charlotte girl time! :)

I'll be back in Asheville in a week from tomorrow! Hopefully things will slow down a little. I miss my home, my bed, my puppies and my of course Mr. O!

Home finally!!! Well... just for 48 hours then back to Charlotte for another seven days straight.

Before all I wanted to do was just be in Charlotte but now traveling all the time all I want to do is be in Asheville with my husband and puppies! I miss them so much!

Today's post is a tough one. One thing that completes me is my family. As of 8 months ago I married into another family. There is my family, Mr.O's mom's family and then Mr. O's dad's family. All made up of parents, in-laws, step dads, step kids, sister in laws, brother in laws, and a niece.

Mr. O and I compliment each other very well but our families are very different. We never dealt with family issues until the day he asked me to marry him and it has continued to go down this road since we have said "I do." It has been a daily struggle for myself and our marriage.

I am a people pleaser. I will go over and above for the people I love... I don't expect that everyone should do the same for me but I do feel that respect and being thankful go a long way. I love my family and want them apart of my life as much as possible but I can't seem to find my place in my new extended family.

I know this will be a work in progress to try and be apart of my new family and make it successful but it will have to take all of us to make it work.

Baby Talk

I know... Everyone knows I want to be a mother! I have severe baby fever. Mr. O and I know we want to wait a little longer but it is so hard. Every baby I just want to squeeze, I can't walk by baby clothes without picking something out and I just love to day dream about what Baby O will look like one day! I even have baby themes picked out already for the bedroom! Crazy... yea yea yea! I'm just so excited.

We have names ready!!!! I'm actually really excited about this b/c we had our little girl name for a long time but just couldn't come up with a boy name we agreed on. This helps me settle my baby talk (this is what Mr. O thinks anyways).

New Life Approach

I have to say my new job has to be one of the biggest career moves of my life. There is a lot going on and I'm still having to manage to transition out of my old role but I'm just so happy!

I have a new boss, new responsibilities, a new team, and I have unlimited opportunities to succeed! Even Asheville has turned around for Mr. O and I!

The next few years will be exciting for us! I'm looking forward to each day and what else we will be blessed with it :)

Break Down Tuesday

I've accepted a new job, I've accepted to take on dual roles while we allow time for transition into my new job, and I've accepted that I will be living in Asheville for more than I ever thought I would.

Now I have to figure out how do I manage my career, my husband, my future family that I want to create with my husband, my friends, and our families! There are so many things I want to do and achieve in my life but sitting here at 28 years old I feel like I have just a few years to make HUGE decisions about how I want the rest of my life to turn out.

Obviously.. this lead to my break down Tuesday. I had a good cry, some great comfort food from the Hubby, a good nights sleep and now its Hump Day! It is always good you can start a new day over! :)

I know I can't believe I'm saying this. After I received the news I got a new job at TFS and I was interviewing for job in Charlotte... the decision came down to money and Mr. O. I never would have thought that I'd stay that but I think I just made the best career move I could.

We love watching the thunderstorms roll across the mountains from our front porch, cool nights, snow cones, tastee freeze, Ingles, and Leicester Hwy!

Charlotte or Asheville?

After two years of living in Asheville I finally got a job interview in Charlotte! Things went great and I even got called back for a 2nd interview the same day. Also, I put in for a job in Asheville and got it!!! I should have an offer letter on my desk Monday morning.

Decision time... Do I take the promotion at Thermo and commit another year or so to "hippie ville" or make the big move to CLT? I want to be in Charlotte more than anything... my life... my friends... my family are all there! On the other side AVL will be more money.

What do I do??????

4th of July!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!! I had a great one being with my family and friends! The Miller Family came down for a visit and brought along their cousin Travis! Lyric has grown soooo much!!! I can't believe he is 8 months old already! Liz arrived on Sat night! All the girls went to go see The Eclipse - Twilight Saga! SOOOOO GOOD!!! I was so excited about it!

Sunday morning Liz, Jesse, my parents and I packed up the truck and headed to Holden Beach for the Kreisher's annual 4th of July beach bash! "Mini Vegas" is what it was called! We were on the beach all day drinking and playing games! We ended the evening with a wonderful dinner and fireworks on the Intercoastal waterway!

The "D" Word

A few months ago I found out some horrible news. My first friend divorce. Ugh. I was completely shocked. My mouth flew open, I stood there in disbelief and tears started to roll down my face. How could a man and woman who have been together for 10 years, married for 5 years just be over? These two friends were not close friends but more than just acquaintances. Well when a man cheats on a woman.. then the woman becomes the most strongest person in the world and gathers herself to know she doesn't deserve that and should be treated better. The woman is out on her own now. Besides all the crazy stories of hiring a PI, catching him in the act, and cleaning out his crap... she begins her new life!

This woman is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. She is strong, in control, proud of herself, confident, intelligent and motivated. I just hope I can be all of what she is one day. I'm so proud of her for what she has done and stood up for. We have become much closer now and I'm so proud to have her as a close friend.

Girls... always remember.... boys may come and go but your girlfriends will last forever! :)

Alexandria 1st Day at Day Care

Today Alexandria went to daycare for the first time! She only made it three hours before they called Mary to come pick her up b/c all the milk that was sent couldn't be used and she refused to take a bottle.

Now on to the next thing... bank accounts and bills! This is a lot of extra work... but I love him!

This weekend was NOT what I thought it was going to be. Thank goodness we were only 40 mins from home! We first arrived in "Country He**" around 9am Saturday. Once we got to our cabin we arrived at summer camp! We had a great time just playing around outside and sitting on the front porch of our cabin. Mr. O and I had a little basketball time so I got to pull out some old skills :) Hours were spent playing Ladder Ball and then we played boys vs girls in Taboo! We got so into Taboo that we just had to pull out Catch Phrase!!! Mr. O, his brother and I played for hours! So Fun!

We woke up this morning checked out of our cabin (yes we did have a real bathroom too) :) Then went to Butts On The Creek BBQ for lunch! Amazing everything!! We can't wait to go back!

Mr. O and I are off to Maggie Valley, NC with his family! I'm so glad this week is finally over. You would think a four day week would be great but NO. Longest week of my life. It will all be good once I get to go hold my little niece for a few hours! Of course I went shopping for her yesterday! I got the cutest ladybug swimsuit for her! :)

I'm still waiting on the Charlotte Job news... I hate waiting! I'm so ready to move!

Next weekend is Jesse's Birthday! We are having a boat bash at Lake Norman thanks to Leslie Dunn and Leslie McNiece! We are totally excited! Beer, boats and the Sun! I can't believe we are both 28! Yikes I never thought about being 30 (until now of course). We are still young at heart though! Thats what counts!

Another night of not sleeping....

This always seems to happen at least ONCE a month! I go to bed at a decent hour (930pm) and i'm up at 1 or 130am. UGHHHH... I love sleep and I can't stay asleep!

Well we all survived the girls beach trip of the year! Touch and go there for a bit but we all made it in one piece and all got in the cars to go home this afternoon! Just want to say a HUGE thank you to all my wonderful friends. We are so grateful to have each other in our lives and are always there for each other. Girlfriends are one of my top priorities in my life. They keep me grounded, straight, make me laugh, let me cry, and are always supportive. You can never have too many people that are on your side.

I'm finally having a vacation!!! I'm off to Arizona to visit with my wonderful cousin Gillian! We are celebrating our birthdays together.. even though mine was in April hers is on Friday! Yahoo!! Entering our "late" twenties together!

It has been a long weekend...

I got a lot done around the house... finally cleaned out my closet (Mr. O calls it my bedroom closet) and organized the bonus room with all our junk from moving boxes, wedding supplies, wedding gifts, and etc.

Mr. O on the other hand spent his weekend at the GPI since The Obamas were in town. I have to admit it was a pretty cool experience for Mr. O to be working with secret service, Obamas' staff and the President and First Lady. Did you know they fly their own limo whereever they go ?!?!?! Crazy! Mr. O got to get a tour of the limo! The arrived at 1:20pm on Friday and left today at 1:40pm!

Sorry for not posting daily like usual! Life just gets crazy busy someimes! Nothing new is really going on around here. My birthday week was great! Celebrated all week! Last weekend Mr. O and I were in Charlotte visiting family. We got to have lunch with Jamie and Jillian Ermann at Lake Norman, babysat for our niece Alexandria, family lunch with the Motleys and a famiy dinner with the Ordans!

We didn't get back until 1130pm last night.. yuck! It just made Monday drag... I hate Mondays! I'll post pictures soon of our babysitting adventure with Alexandria! She loves her Uncle Jesse!

Well... I've been 28 years old for almost 24 hours now. I actually survived the day. It really was a wonderful birthday even though my hate stinks! I know I know.... everyone tells me I'm still so young but 28 years old is NOT young for me! I just keep seeing my life fly by me! Scary!

I spent my birthday at the office... went to lunch with Liz and then ended up in Lake Lure, NC for dinner with Mr. O. My birthday present from Mr. O was a shopping spree! It was so fun! We went everywhere and I picked out so many things that I didn't have to pay for!!!! :) love it!

When we got to Lake Lure I remembered my summer camp was in the same area...so Mr. O plugged "Camp Lurecrest" in the navi and off we went. It took us an hour to eventually find the location that was only really 5 mins away from our dinner spot! Mr. O had me get out of the car for pictures and we even saw my old cabin I stayed in with my best friends! LONG TIME AGO!

Birthday...short week...Yankees won last night...Charlotte this weekend... and we get to babysit our niece on Sat. night!! Good Times!

Did You Know?!?!?!

Passover is one of the most important holidays of the Jewish faith, an eight-day commemoration that overlaps in date with Easter.

One of Mr. O's favorite things is Matza bread! Mr. O and his father make a huge Harris Teeter run for boxes and boxes of matza bread. Don't forget the cream cheese! :)

Weekend started out great! Worked and then drove to Gaffney, SC with the girls for some shopping and drinks! Good Times! (yes it is sad we have to drive out of Asheville to do some shopping)

I'm looking forward to a beautiful day tomorrow! I'll be sleeping in and then working most of the day! Four day week next week for me then beach bound for Easter!!!! :)

Mr. O and I's niece was born 3-22-2010 at 3:57am! Labor and delivery started around 4pm and the pushing started at 12:30pm. Finally she arrived....

Miss Alexandria weighed 8 lbs and 4 oz 21 inches long. She has hair!!

I know I'm her aunt but seriously she is one of the cutest little girls ever!!! She has the perfect little round face, cute dark hair, and perfect little lips with a button nose! She also has these huge feet! Ha! :)

We are extremely exhausted. Didn't go to sleep till 6am this morning and are now driving back to Asheville.

FYI - I won the baby pool game!! :)

Thank goodness hump day is now over and it is on to my favorite day of the week: THURSDAY. I don't really know why I love Thursdays probably b/c ABC is off the chain with three great TV shows, it is the last day before TGIF, and I'm usually pretty busy so the day flies by!

The best part of today besides all the green is that my momma came home!!! She has been in St. John for a week and I haven't been able to talk to her! Taking that away from me is like taking my breathe away. I love my mom.. we talk like seriously 4 or 6 times a day! I can't help it! She is my best friend. I'm so excited to see her this weekend!!

Niece Update: Nothing yet... 2.5 hrs left and then i'm out of the baby pool until Monday!! COME ON ALEXANDRIA... we are all dying to meet you!!!

Mr O and myself realized that we can't do this "college" lifestyle anymore. We had a wonderful busy weekend but waking up at 3pm on Sunday I can't believe what all happened.

Our weekend started by being in Charlotte with dinner with my father-in-law, brother and sister-in-law :) Then it was time for Matt's 28th Birthday celebration at his house! Tons of our friends were there and it was great to spend time with them... one drink too many later some of us realize that we can't handle it! Ha!

Sat morning started early with finishing up baby shower decorations and gifts! Going on four hours of sleep Mr. O, Xienna and I jumped in the car and headed back to Asheville. One of my friends from work had a baby shower for her daughter Londyn EllaGrace! It was a rainy blah day but the shower was outstanding! Great decorations and gifts! Came home to catch some Zs before another night for a birthday party!

After several conversations and a nap Mr. O and I headed to downtown Asheville to the The Vault for Jenny T's birthday celebration! We had a VIP room all to ourselves which was awesome... I knew I was going to lay low after what happened the night before so I prepared to only be out for two hours..... well 6 hours later.... few drinks later.... and a gay bar Mr O and I ended our night.

What an unbelievable weekend! Today is def. low key! Slept in, Mr. O is at work and we are just waiting for the wonderful phone call that our niece is on the way! :)

Well Asheville was the place to be this weekend! It is so nice out! 55 and 60 degrees outside!

My mom came up for a visit Sat/Sunday and we did some major shopping at all Targets, Marshalls, Maurices, and Bed Bath & Beyond! :) Loved every minute of it! We had a great Italian dinner in S Asheville (Sneed - if you are reading this... yes we saw Nick). Nick and his fiance are having a baby any day now! So many people having babies!! They are having a little girl. This morning Jesse, Mom and I had a wonderful brunch at the Grove Park Inn! LOVE THIS BRUNCH!! The best part is that it was free! Can't beat that!

I had a hard week of work so I'm only doing a little work today and then spending the evening with Mr. O. We are still waiting on baby Alexandria to make her entrance! Waiting on pins and needles for this princess to get here!

I'm also working on another diaper cake for one of my friends at work who is having her shower next weekend... baby Londyn EllaGrace Swarts! I went and already bought all the diapers so i'll do a little bit each day!

I'm also trying to finalize the annual beach trip for the PDS group. I might be more like Sept but I think we all can get it together... we have a new addition to the group on his way as well. Mr and Mrs Fiss are having a baby boy due Aug 3!!!! The group keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Bad Day or Week?

It is only Tuesday but this week has just been one of the worst. I have already had multiple breakdowns at work, at home, infront of my husband and etc. Work has just been miserable. Thanks for all this snow today I was able to get out around 230pm to head home. I went by the Grove Park Inn to pick up Mr. O b/c his tires aren't very good in this weather so I could take him home. Well of course... I go and wreck my car at the entrance of the Grove Park! I mean seriously... why me????

I'm okay, the stone wall is okay, but the front passenger side bumper is not. I'm really trying to stay positive but all things are headed south at this point. I'm off to the doctor again about "my issue" and probably be removing this IUD. Thank goodness! Maybe that can be one thing I can remove off my plate of worries.

I'm alone tonight without Mr. O b/c he had to stay at the hotel and work! Boo :( TV and early bed time for me tonight!

Mr O and I have been married for four months now. We are now experiencing how much everything costs with both of us together! It is just exhausting. Your have home insurance, car insurance, rent/mortgage, food, gas, bills, dog food or vet bills, and the list continues!

It really just used to be about me! I knew what money I had and what money I could spend.. well now it is a different story. Mr O and I have to take care of each other. What he doesn't have I need to help .... What I don't have I need his help. This has been a growing experience for both of us and is on going.

We can't get caught up on having nothing because we still need to live our lives! We have to enjoy going to the movies, having drinks with our friends, traveling and put our happiness first.

The plan right now is SAVE SAVE SAVE! Whatever I can put away that is what I'm going to start doing. Thank goodness bonus and raise time are next week! We could use all the help we can get.

What's going on in your life???

Things are pretty slow here in Asheville. Mr. O is working nights and I'm working days like usual so we only see each other when we roll over or I get up during my crazy sleepless nights. No plans for C-town trips for awhile. Mr O and I are so excited waiting on the birth of our new niece! Our sister-in-law is at 36 weeks so just a few more weeks to go and Alexandria Charlotte Ordan will make her entrance to the world. :)

We are still seeing snow and it is so cold here! I'm looking forward to SPRING! I want to wear jeans, a t-shirt and my rainbows! Keep thinking WARM thoughts!

Baby Shower Filled Weekend

I had a fun filled weekend of family, friends and baby stuff!! My sister-in-law had two showers this weekend to celebrate the birth of their first baby girl ... my new niece!! There is only about 4 weeks left! Amazing! I had such a great time preparing for the shower we put on Sun morning! I created my first diaper cake! I think this could be a great business adventure! :) I'm just so in love with everything baby!

The only down part of the weekend was that Jesse got hit with the 24 hour flu bug on Friday night.. gross! He finally felt like himself this afternoon around 2pm. I didn't get it thank goodness and knock on wood.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!! It was some gorgeous CAROLINA days for sure! Mr. and Mrs. O are back in AVL with our two pups! We will see what the next adventure will be!

Mr and Mrs O are finally back in C-town for a visit. We are seeing friends and family all weekend. The best part is we get to bring our dogs home after 3 weeks being without them! Today is our first Valentine's day as Mr and Mrs O! I didn't have much expectations since we haven't really been big on V-day while we dated. This year was the best! We exchanged gifts Sat night/Sun morning at 12am .... Mr. O gave me a Guess watch with a pink face and I gave him a Yankees "Jeter" jersey! We slept in and then got all dressed up in our pink and red! Bistro for lunch then drove around Asheville. We ended up at the Grove Park for drinks... two hours later we are eating sushi and finally get home!

Here we go again.... The snow started about 2pm today and it is still going! We have about 5 inches now. Lets just say I really have become that mountain snow girl instead of a beach babe! Argghhh... One day I will get out of the mountains and this freezing weather!

I'm so glad I was able to make it up our hill and into our driveway tonight... for Jesse on the other hand will probably be walking it! It is slippery out there! Be careful!

I just got off the phone with my sister!!! I haven't spoken to her in forever! It stinks living away from my family and friends. You get to talking and realize how much you miss out on with what is going on in our lives and what you are missing. I miss Jamie so much! We had to end our convo b/c she arrived at Kevin's but we will be on again for another phone date in the morning on the way to work! Yay! Phone dates?!?!? Yes, that is what it takes to keep in touch with one another!

Hope everyone is staying warm! This wind is horrible. I need it to stop so I can sleep for more than 3 hours!

This will be Jesse and I's 7th super bowl together! We are not with all our friends in Charlotte or other places but we decided to do our own super bowl party with hamburgers, man dip and our favorite red wine! It will just be the two of us tonight!

We aren't really pulling for either team per say but we do wish to see The Saints win over the Colts! I think I'm more excited to see all the commercials!

I hope everyone is safe and enjoys the good super bowl food and fun!

ATTENTION ASHEVILLE!

Here we go again.... a slippery and glitter mess out outside. This started last night and is going to be around until Saturday. I probably will be working from home most of the day instead of risking my life and car on these roads to get to work. Mr. O and I have planned to stay at home most of the weekend. Mr O's mom is also in town with us visiting. Our plan is movies and some home-cookin'! I'll post pictures later of the winter wonderland! :)

Linda "Grammy" Godfrey 7/23/1933 - 2/29/2010

Friday morning at 4:40am my grandmother, "Grammy," passed away. She battled the past ten years of alzheimer's, parkinson's, and dementia disease. I arrived in Charlotte Friday morning to be with my family. My aunt and cousin were here with us and my brother and his girlfriend came down from Raleigh. We have spent a long weekend together sharing stories, laughing, crying and trying to realize that Grammy is in a much better place now.

We all will be driving up to Smithfield, North Carolina (30 mins outside of Raleigh) for a service in her honor on Tuesday.

I do have to say that a death brings family together but I honestly have had a great weekend with my family. We have experienced IKEA, driving in snow and ice, drank plenty of wine, watched all movies possible on TV, cooked plenty of food and even went sledding in the neighborhood in plastic storage tubs!

Grammy would have wanted us all together and be happy. That is definitely what we did. Rest in peace Grammy and we all know we have a special angel looking down on us forever. :)

Not much is going on up in Asheville this week.... it is snowing (again!) I'm so ready for this cold weather to move on. I'm probably headed to Charlotte this weekend. My grammy hasn't been doing well and I think it may be that time. Keep her in your thoughts.

I really do not like Mondays....

1. good tv is on until 11pm sunday night
2. usually drink too much on sunday watching football... hello HANGOVER
3. don't go into the office until 9am so I feel behind
4. feel like nothing got accomplished over the weekend
5. everyone else hates mondays so we are all in bad moods
6. you just realized you have five whole days of work before your next day off
7. you are always a week or two away from your paycheck fridays

I could keep going but I'm going to try and be more positive. :)

Tonight, Jesse and I were eating dinner and I was explaining to him a situation I was in today. I explained what I was doing and how this certain person emailed me back and it rubbed me the wrong way. He just states ... "You take things too personally."

I didn't like that. I do not feel like I take things too personally I just think there are BETTER ways of communicating. First problem is that texting, emails and facebook communication is the worst way ever. PEOPLE PICK UP THE PHONE! Well I guess I read this "email" the wrong way.

I'm honestly trying to give people the benefit of the doubt and look at the brighter side of things. I guess I just always try to say the correct thing and in the correct manner. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings or make them feel uncomfortable. I think I'm one of the only ones left doing this these days....

Harsh, blunt, inconsiderate people honestly just drive me crazy! There is always a time and a place but come on.....
